  1. I suppose that would depend on the nature of these points, Grant. If they specifically relate to bus travel to away games, it may suffice for those who run the buses to be aware of what the rules and requirements are. Should any be of relevance to the general public, then of course they should.
  2. I watched the 2nd half (having seen the HT score 😃) and Graham defended very well at what was a footballing version of the Alamo. Unbelievable that Rangers only managed one goal for all their possession and domination.
  3. With Jim Goodwin now installed at Pittodrie, Jack Ross and John Potter must be the next best thing to a racing certainty that they will go back to St Mirren..... And yes, I know there's no such thing as a racing certainty. 🙂
  4. I think every Championship club has to move 2 home games for TV coverage. I think the money received hardly covers the losses incurred at the turnstiles compared to playing on a Saturday afternoon with no live cover. The whole sorry situation is reminiscent of the BBC deal of 20 years ago when invariably the away game involving the OF was moved to the Sunday. The home team received £50k, which was eroded by the loss of gate money, while the Glasgow clubs picked up £45k, where normally they would receive nothing. 🙁
  5. It shouldn't be hard to get a more pleasant evening when the game is eventually played.
  6. As fans, most of us tend towards optimism, otherwise we'd probably not go if we thought we had no chance of avoiding defeat. The league table points to a win for Thistle, but football is nothing if not unpredictable - that's one reason we all love it. Who would have predicted 2 away wins in the games involving Sellick and Sevco last night? On that basis, I'm sticking my neck out for a narrow Pars win, if the game's on. 1-0 or 2-1.
  7. ^^^Digs nails it. ^^^^ If Vytas was a bit quicker and more mobile, he could have easily played for Sellick or Sevco.
  8. My understanding is that he asked to be released as he wasn't getting enough games and feared - quite reasonably - that it would harm his chances of featuring in future international games for Lithuania. Why he didn't start more regularly for the Pars only JH will know, but I'm not convinced by the "I need a left footer for left centre back" line. A more plausible reason might be that Vytas was not the most mobile of defenders and sometimes struggled to turn against nippy forwards. Still, a decent defender at our level, imo.
  9. As bright as a blackout - allegedly. 🙂
  10. I believe the CEO didn't get a vote 're the signing of DG. Just as well - it wouldn't be a good look for a woman to be involved. That's if she'd gone along with the male idiots who voted in favour.
  11. Yes, it's always doubly disappointing to lose a game after going ahead. I can't agree about the penalty miss being all that important, because we did score first anyway and the fact that it was Lawless who netted, after failing from the spot, was a bonus. It's too simplistic to think if he had scored the pen, we would have gone on to be 2-0 up. More likely we'd have retreated into defence even earlier. 🙁
  12. I think McGlynn is/was under the impression that the moral code, which most people in civilised societies adhere to, does not apply to football and footballers.
  13. A pal of mine, who attended a West Fife village primary school, sent me this pic and asked if I recognised him from it. I'm afraid I was 🤔 so by a process of elimination..... I'm not naming him or the school but some of you may recognise some of these kids - they'll be a good age now and might even be related to you. 😃
  14. I wouldn't be surprised if we do come away with a point, but I hope we don't go there to defend for a 0-0. Such tactics rarely work for the full 90 mins.
  15. Some smashing pics there, lads. Really lifted my mood. Like waking up to a sunny day on a fine summer morning. 🙂 I hope others will add their pics to this thread.
  16. Last, desperate gamble by them to get out of League 1. That's a lot more than any of his team mates are likely to be on, but they may accept it if he scores enough decisive goals. It may not be a basic wage though, but tied in to points won, final league position and whether promotion is achieved. I'm glad he's not coming to EEP. No doubts about the guy's talent but leaving aside his wages, he carries far too much baggage.
  17. Two wrongs never made a right. I regret using a derogatory term about an esteemed Tory politician. I remember seeing it somewhere and thinking it was funny. I tried to cover myself from any accusation by adding "allegedly." Eta. This site used to be fairly relaxed but more recently I've noticed people taking issue with what I consider fairly harmless stuff, compared to things which appear elsewhere on SM platforms, which is a shame.
  18. It was McGlynn but the BoD should have told him it was out of the question. Owner John Sim lives in the Far East and gave it his blessing. Maybe out of touch, but his fellow directors should have put him straight. Unbelievable that they chose to ignore Val McDermid's warning that she'd withdraw her sponsorship.
  19. A draw away from home is usually A decent result. It builds confidence and stretches our unbeaten run. Let's take that into the next game and be reasonably happy. Your disappointment is a sign that we're setting the bar higher now. Having gone in front, it would have been great to come home with the 3 pts, but we could easily have lost. Under PG, we probably would have.
  20. I wasn't actually arguing that it makes it OK, just pointing out that the perception is markedly different. I found it mildly amusing and not at all offensive. That might be partly due to the fact that I know one of the ladies involved in the exchange and I suspect you do, too.
  21. I might get shot down myself for this, but I think it's pretty harmless, Keyser. I agree that if the roles were reversed, it would rightly attract criticism. That's because males are generally regarded as predatory animals by society and females as prey. So a male directing such comments towards a female could appear to be quite menacing, whereas it's perhaps far less apparent if the instigator is female.
  22. Well, you might well be spot on, alwaysaPar and we'll find out soon enough. I tried to put myself in Yogi's shoes. I have Donaldson and Martin who have done very well since that calamitous afternoon in Greenock. I`ve just brought in Ambrose who has played at a much higher level but hasn`t played for 3 months, so he can`t be fully match fit. What will I do? Hmmm. 🤔 Tough one....
  23. Was it whispering Ted Lowe who said "For those of you watching in black and white, the blue ball is behind the pink." 😃
  24. I recall it being a nightmare watching games on black & white TV. Ireland v Wales was a particularly difficult one. Grey tops, white shorts, grey socks. Very few teams changed strips, home or away. If the ref asked for a change, it was incumbent on the home team. Away teams only turned up with the one set of strips.
  25. I don't see how Efe can just walk straight into the team, given Martin and Donaldson have done well since the Morton game. He'll have to bide his time and grab his chance when it comes along.
