Deutsch Par
We're quite lucky that Stephen's provide our catering and offer a decent scran especially after that ill fated experiment with the club trying their own thing under Masterton before the wheels come off. There was a thing on BBC last night on Rip Off Britain where a Bradford City fan bitches about how crap the pies at Valley Parade are and he goes to Morecambe to see how they do their pies as they're very highly rated. Quite an interesting wee segment starting at 13:13 in http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b06543d5/rip-off-britain-food-series-2-peak-reversions-episode-3£4.10 for a pie at Brighton? The guy in the background of the report afterwards isn't me, honest! I've put this in here as it's not specific to The Pars but feel free to move if you feel it's better suited elsewhere. Superally
I think there was a Good pie guide in P&B a few years ago. I wonder just for fun we could have a punter do a pie review for away games?
Deutsch Par
Yeah, the Dundee supporter "Big Gus" did a review the season we won the First Division but it kind of died a death in it's second season. I think we should definitely have a pie reviewer. Here's the threads for anyone who wants to look back on them:http://www.pieandbovril.com/forum/index.php/topic/132023-a-season-of-pies/http://www.pieandbovril.com/forum/index.php/topic/152876-a-season-of-pies-ii/

Deutsch Par
Don't know about nominating people but I think we should open it up to people to volunteer their services.

Sursum Semper
Chicken Balti pies made by Hollands sold at Old Trafford take some beating. Sold as a meal deal with a bottle of Singha lager.

Captain Deadpool
On the topic of matchday food, those heading to Forfar tonight should avoid their bridies. They are without a doubt the biggest disappointment I've ever experienced.* Total gash and not even close to competing with the fine delicacy that is a Stephen's Bridie. In fact they aren't even as good as a Greggs Steak Bake. *In food terms.
Sursum Semper
Problem at Forfar is that there are 2 bakeries in the town, Sadlers and McLarens. Sadlers are favoured for cakes etc. while McLarens are best for savouries. Sadly Forfar get their bridies from Sadlers. When we are there for the league game in a few weeks time get along to McLarens bake house which is just down the road from Station Park.
Deutsch Par
I tried a McLarens last time and was pretty underwhelmed.
Vinnie
There is another place in Forfar, I forget the name, but the bridies are immense! For the life of me I just cannot think what the place is called.
