Pars v ICT

Well, the Boxing Day fixture resulted in a thumping KO to Arbroath and in the next fixture can the Pars redeem themselves to a closed door home game against ICT. The Highlanders skipped the weekend fixture due to Covid issues so it will be interesting to see if we will be playing against a “weakened team”. ICT sit 2nd in the league table 3pts behind Arbroath with a game in hand the pressure will be on them not to slip up on Wednesday night. Recent form has seen them earn 9 points from their past 5 games with 3 wins and while they are not the biggest scorers in the league their defence is one of the meanest. The Pars form against other teams in the league isn’t great but we are not the worst either. However, its clear that the new Manager bounce has fallen off the cliff. Sitting in 9th spot ahead of Morton in 10th by a single point, we are already 3pts behind QoS and really can’t afford to slip further back. The positive factor is we have done better against ICT than any other team in the league with an 0-0 draw and out last outing coming back from a goal down to a 2-1 away win with goals from Devine (OG) and Thomas. Undoubtedly more of the same would be ideal. And if the Pars can lose that bloody annoying habit of losing early goals, I think there is a chance of points to be earned. A win would be ideal, but I’ll settle for a 1-1 draw. COYP.
