Dorrans going to be playing 30 mins on Friday,he has missed the last 8 games. The second highest paid player in the championship after Lafferty and is usually in the stand. Just shows you how poor the player recruitment has been at the club,he was out for ages at Rangers and we give him a 2 year contract.

He also played virtually every game for Western Sydney - the club he was at before signing for us - and has the best part of 500 appearances in his career.

He was also finished when at Dundee in this league a few seasons back, they couldn’t rip his contract up quick enough

There is the next concern, players who know they will not be here next season.

What does it matter to them to be busting a gut for the team on Friday or in the play offs, their only concern is going to be not to get injured preventing them from signing for us or another club and earning a living.

We will really be relying on the longer contract players to give 110% knowing that their futures are impacted the most with any demotion.

Surely a relegation on their cv from us won’t look too good for other teams sniffing around, saying that not many teams will be after many of our players. The biggest concern is who’s actually signed up for next season as none of them get a game right now as it is

He was out for almost two years through injury and when he returned from Australia he went on trial in Scotland and England failing to get a contract. I dont think he was on trial with us and we give him a 2 year deal. It would have been safer to give him a one year deal with the option of a second to a player who is coming to the end of his career and was out for so long with an injury.

Let's hope the club have a relegation clause in his contract because we wont be able to afford his high wages if we are in league one next season.

They let him go as he wanted to swap Dundee for Sydney.  Whether they were partying or not when he left, I don't know.

Anyway, the contention was whether he was injury prone or not, and there's no massive evidence that he has been.  It seems he played 20 odd games for Rangers across 2 seasons, so was available for some of the time.  And there's nothing much before or after we signed him to suggest he's some sort of fixture on the treatment table.  Being on trial elsewhere and not getting a contract isn't a sign of that either.

He was out with an ankle injury near the start of the season and has been missing for the last seven weeks with a calf injury. His rangers career was plagued with injuries and his pars one hasn't been much different. We cant afford to waste money on players who are going to make a cameo appearance from the bench or be up in the stand.

We should totally invest in a crystal ball then.

Either that or avoid anyone who has ever been injured during their 16 year career.

Again, we didn't sign him from The Rangers. He hadn't been there for 2 years at the time we signed him and he'd played 50 games after leaving there.

We should have offered him a one year contract and not took the risk,it was always a gamble signing a player who was out for 18 months of his career through an injury and giving him a lucrative 2 year deal.

He has not been in the squad for 16 games this season (couple of games with covid) and is going to make a cameo appearance in a vital game.

The player/managerial recruitment at East End has been shocking over the last few years and it looks like we are finally going to pay the consequences for it.

Sounds like you're looking forward to it.

Hardly looking forward to the possibility of being relegated but the consequences of poor decisions at boardroom level was eventually going to catch up with us.

Bad managerial appointments and a big turn over of players every season was never going to take us forward. Look at Arbroath, they have had the same core of players and add 4/5 new players to improve them and they are doing fantastic.

We have had something like 33 players on the pitch at some point this season which is a disgrace.

No getting away from the poor managerial appointments being our biggest failure. It's extremely frustrating but it's a frustration that's been felt by everyone at the club.

We've got to really get behind the team on Friday, and again if we end up in the play offs.

The most important thing short term is obviously staying in this league. Full concentration on that, by everyone is necessary. I believe we can do it. Get that done and we move to the next step of rebuilding over the close season.

It's easy to be critical and also understandable. Been shi*loads of chat this season about the Chairman, the boardroom, about unrest, about the academy, about the suitability of influential people at the club etc, a lot of it fishwife stuff.

But there's no doubt there needs to be clarification on the clubs future plans which would dampen a lot of the undubstantiated stuff. But right now, we've a game to win on Friday.
