Yogi out

Few things here that I want to say (on the back of today's utter frustration).

I like Yogi Hughes, I probably liked Peter Grant (met him and socialised with him many years ago). They're just guys doing their best to provide us with success. So that said there's absolutely no need for any level of malice. Same with those board members who appointed these guys. Only doing their best.

However, their best isn't cutting the mustard. They know that, we know that. Decision making is a lonely place when it affects so many people, but your motivation is to change the situation is always the key. Sometimes you've got to take a boot to the stanes and then reflect. I know that's how I feel nust now. I believe as a club we'll come back, but there needs to be a return to humility and focusing on the collective. I think we've lost that factor along the way in pursuit of our success. This club can only flourish with that rudimentary principle in place.

Ross McArthur said our vision of a supporter based ownership model wasn't working, the board members had no more appetite for further personal investment. I get that 100%.

Along came the 'Germans', Fussball GmbH to be more precise. The investment was needed, but more than the money I wanted them to love this club like we do: that way they'd stay and get stuck in for the cause. But given the situation today who knows what they're now thinking. Have they the stomach for the fight?, which is a fair question. I'm not sure or convinced.

I think they really need to take control from a hands on, day to day leadership role. Effective leadership, looking and listening to guage what's really going on and making judgements based on fans points of view, not just those who share time with on matchdays in the hospitality sector.

Cast aside that silo mentality that exists with those 'better off' Pars fans, them all assuming they know better because they're in the know on matchdays through insulated chatter. Open up the gates and seek potential from the wider fan base and not rely on a restricted pool of a minority of fans, some of whom are riddled with self entitlement.

After the Rovers game (that was abandoned) we were in Somewhere Else, I met Thomas Meggle. A board member told me to behave in front of a gentleman before I got too engaged chat-wise. F*ck off I thought to myself. Who are you to dispense morality to me given you're not in a position to do so. I can hold myself in any company when I have to. Anyway, I pretty much ignored the advice and I reckon Meggle listened with interest.

My worry is the German gentlemen are being fed the same old regurgitated chaff and hopefully they can see through it and base their decisions for the club on a fuller asessment than they've currentky been given by some of our top brass at the club.

I'm happy if he goes, and it was borderline criminal to leave Thomas on the bench when their left back looked ropey against Lawless. Pybus not starting was ridiculous too. I don't get Todd being preferred to Comrie either, but I'm seemingly in the minority on that one.

However, we were playing with 10 men in a game we couldn't lose. It was hardly a time to be throwing on strikers. The reason he did in injury time was down to us losing a goal.

Re the 4-5-1, we've no strikers worth starting. Starting two of them wouldn't have changed the season. Lots of sides play with one striker and do just fine. The failings are elsewhere.

Imo our new board should no be meeting anyone in a pub up the town… I hope this will be stopped and all the hangers on within the club told to fek off!
leishman,Braisby and all the ones that think they own some sort of the club just because they think that…… your time has come to go.

To be fair that was my only experience of 'pub chat'.

But yeah, time has come to address this situation with certain individuals at the club. That was the point if of that rant.

Agree to the without malice section.  No one either employed by or who volunteers for this club, wants anything other than the best.  So while their best hasn’t been good enough, we mustn’t get personal.

That out of the way, its time for drastic change in the boardroom and dugout.  Now.

Collectively, the board have overseen a decline that you can trace back a few years now, along with a widening chasm between the ordinary supporter and the club.  From the continuous ridiculously negative tone of communication from club to fans, the tone deaf pricing and entrance decisions, right through to continued poor unambitious decision making on football matters.  There has been a culture of underperformance, meek behaviours and an undercurrent of rot in this club the last 4 years - and we’re now seeing the result of it all.

I feel sorry for the Germans, they may have been able to look under the hood of the financial model, and indeed lots of success there.  But they have failed to appreciate the looming impact of poor decisions and strategy on the football park, along with the attitude from some of our board towards supporters that is permeating thorough so much.  They might be able to find cash for training ground (which I think regardless of where we are League wise we need to make work for the future), but what they probably need to do now, is really build bridges with the support and demonstrate their commitment and share their plans.  This also goes for our new CEO.  Now it is time for him to show his hand and what he plans to do - I just hope he has a clear run to get things sorted, and there is no resistance from the afore mentioned board.

As for the playing squad, other than the 4 young lads (Todd, McCann, Allan, Fenton) and Edwards, the rest can go for me.  Every one of them, not good enough or won’t have the necessary appetite.

Yogi should be out the door today, lets hope the board have a relegation clause in his contract.

If Scott Brown doesnt get the Rovers job,I wouldn't be surprised if he was the new manager with Whittaker as his assistant.

I see people are mentioning Kevin Thomson, its a no from me.

If we didn’t have a relegation clause into his contract when he came in, considering we were bottom would be absolutely ridiculous. I trust the board wouldn’t have been that daft to not include a clause

Thing is, would he have signed any deal with such a clause? I'm not sure if such things are commonplace or not? They may be.

I’d have like to think so just given the position the club was in, and tbh he had enough time to keep us up. He said when he came in the midfield wasn’t good enough to play 2 up front, so he signs midfielders and then still doesn’t change the one up front. Weeks of persisting with McCann when he isn’t the answer, a stubbornness to change the game. Christ even Queen’s Park went 2 up front then instantly get a man advantage

The club you would have thought would install a relegation clause as a safety net. I thought Yogi was a good appointment after the job he done with Ross County but it's been a disaster.

If we do have to sack him the club will be paying his wage,Petet Grant's and a new managers all next season.

He does have a deal to take us into next season I'm sure, but I think he also said, when asked about next season, he said something like, he'd 'like the opportunity to try and bring us back up', which to me says it's not cut and dried.

I'd suggest prefacing that sentence by saying that 'coming straight back up isn't going to be easy' shouldn't do much to instil confidence in anyone making that decision. I've no idea where he gets this reputation as a forward thinking attack-minded manager, as I;ve seen anything but.

He talks a great game and I admit even I was happy to give him a second chance after initially being sceptical of the appointment and hearing his enthusiasm and the things he says as it fits with how I feel about the game but I've yet to see any evidence of that either rubbing off on the players, or him actually espousing those words through his team selection and tactics. It's one thing to have a philosophy, but quite another to actually have the ability to implement it.
