Pars v Killie Friendly

Pars v Killie in perhaps what is the biggest test of pre-season friendlies on Tuesday night and the first time to see the Pars at home with a reduced ticket price. McPake has used the vast majority of his players trying to give them all some game time and I would suggest that we are still not clear in terms of the shape or what will be the first 11. However its still early days and there may be some signings still to come as well as potential loans. Killie are just back from a summer camp and playing friendlies in Spain and will be looking for a good to start their league campaign. Equally this can also be said of the Pars who have done well in their friendlies thus far - scoring freely from all over the pitch but managing to keep a clean sheet throughout. That series of straight wins may be under threat on Tues night but I think most Pars fans will want to see a competitive performance edging towards a settled shape and first team. COYP

The squad is shocking unfortunately badly need new signings but you don't get the impression that's going to change anytime soon

The squad isn’t anywhere near being close to shocking.

Its definitely light but it’s not shocking.

Website now saying trialist goalie? Important point as goal apparently a goalkeeping error.

Aye, trialist keeper. Jumped to catch a long through ball between the striker and Benedictus. Catches it, goes to ground and promptly drops it at the feet of the striker whilst he was face down in the turf. Honking stuff.

badly need some creative midfileders , a midfield of Chalmers/MacDonald/Todd/Allan simply not good enough. Also need one or two Centre backs in  and also a winger .  There didnt seem to be any obvious shape/pattern or tactics to our play.  I thought we were pretty awful.
