Staggies v Pars

A journey up the A9 to Dingwall faces the Pars faithful this weekend for the third game in the Premier Sports Cup. While the Pars have done very well in their last two outings this undoubtedly will be their biggest test in this round of cup matches and also being a sound measuring stick for the all important league campaign. While the Pars demolished Buckie Thistle 5-0 who in turn enjoyed a 1-1 draw the Staggies I think most supporters will anticipate this to be a tough match. It looks with the current squad that McPake is close to settling towards a starting 11. But its good to see that goals are coming from all round the pitch and with strikers McCann and Todorov appearing to be in decent form. Dorrans is the only long term injury and Wighton had a knee knock that prevented him from appearing mid week. The Pars are top of the table at present and are strengthened with a ppositive goal difference and yet to concede. Confidence will be high and it would be good to come back down the A9 with at least a point (and perhaps a bonus point for winning at Pens!). COYP

Predicting results of football matches is a hazardous business and betting on them is foolhardy. Still and all, I think it will be a close game if James McPake sets the team up correctly (whatever formation that may be.) A draw would be a good result, a win would be brilliant.
