Pars v Montrose

The Pars play their second home game on Sat and welcome Montrose to EEP and the return of the legend Stewart Petrie. It should be an interesting game Montrose missed out on promotion last season but were firmly recognised as one of the strongest teams in League 1. Indeed, many Pars fans were looking to see Petrie being installed into the managers hotseat. Montrose have had two goalless draws against Falkirk & QoS and already some of their fans feel the team is not up to the expectation they set last year. The Pars have had the brighter start scoring 4 in 2 games without reply and are bolstered with new signing Mochrie after his scoring debut and the return of Hamilton following suspension. Dorans should also be close to playing some part in the squad. McPake is also looking for additional signings with Crawford still a possibility, but a CH and wide players are the top priorities. Regardless Montrose will prove to be stronger challenge than Edinburgh, however the Pars do seem to have some confidence that hasn’t been evident for a while. I expect a narrow 2-1 Pars win. COYP.

Be interesting to see the midfield dynamic with Hamilton coming back in. Chalmers had a really good game  against Edinburgh with some clever, accurate passing (albeit against poorer opposition), does Mochrie, who was also very composed when he came on, get a start? Think as confidence grows there are goals in this team. 3-1 Pars.

Looking forward to this one on Sat. A Pint in Charlie D's, then followed by a warm welcome to Petrie and down to business. McPake says no injury problems other than Dorrans and suggests that Hamilton wont start. I can't buy that one, I think McPake will go with his strongest team and that has to include Hamilton. Tight game still expecting a 2-1 Pars win
