Pars v Peterhead

After another fortnights lay off the Pars welcome Peterhead to EEP - hopefully not losing anymore of the momentum from our last outing with a stuttering 1-1 draw against Falkirk. However, form aside Peterhead sit last in the table but picked up a useful 2-1 home win in their last outing against Kelty - their first win of the season. The Blue Toon have a win, a draw and 5 defeats they have scored 6 but conceded 19 goals in the process. The Pars remain unbeaten and sit top of the table, but closer analysis of form guide suggests a falling off with only one win in the last 4 outings and 3 draws. Using home form as a guide Alloa and Airdrie have performed better. And while the Pars have been miserly in defence conceding just 2 goals the offensive side is less positive scoring 9 thus far with six other teams scoring more. Its clear the squad needs to be boosted and the lack of activity potentially could be our downfall. However the old adage remains valid of “a game at a time” and this is a top v bottom clash that Pars should have enough in their locker to win. Ryan Dow may return to EEP and will be welcomed hopefully he will be less happy at FT. 3-1 Pars

Nothing less than a win will satisfy our fans. Peterhead already look like they're going to be embroiled in a relegation scrap this season, while we are looking to be in the promotion mix. An early goal could open the doors to a comfortable win, but if we don't get that, or even worse Peterhead open the scoring, it could be a long afternoon. Given their league position, a point away from home against the league leaders would be a very good result.

I'll stick my neck out and say 3-0 Pars. 🙂
