Going by the updates seeming like another poor home performance.....

It wasn't. It was one team trying to score and the other team trying to defend with everyone back for 95% of the game. Really difficult to break down, but the Pars kept going from start to finish, made quite a few chances, and we got what we deserved in the end.

Even if we had drawn today I'd have been pretty happy with that performance, in the context of Edinburgh's game-deadening tactics. They also got exactly what they deserved.

Couldn’t care less about performance, or anyone saying we’ve been lucky at home again, as we’re now back top. Table doesn’t lie.

Performance was fine. We were just up against a team with no interest whatsoever in coming forward. As defensive a performance as I can ever remember.

Going solely by the stats on Sky Sports app, seems like it was usual story of being better in the second half. Pressure looked like it was building before we scored though(?)

Yeah, it was , although we'd had a fair bit of pressure in the second half of the first half too, if that makes sense. We came out and just picked up where we left off, and gradually ratcheted up the pressure until the dam was broken

3 points and onto Tuesday to make it 4 points clear and 7 clear of Falkirk.

Job done.

I thought the first half hour was fairly even, no side on top and not much for either keeper to do.
As half time approached, Pars began to get more possession.
Second half started with the Pars on the front foot. There seemed a greater urgency about their play and the chances began to flow.  Clearly had the hairdryer treatment at half time ?

Edwards was the main provider of chances as he continued to play high up the pitch and put some really good balls in, as well as some poor ones. The keeper was worked much more and Comrie was unlucky with a header  at the back post. McCann dragged one wide too

the ineffective Todorov was withdrawn along with Hamilton, surprisingly, in favour of Wighton and McCann up top with Todd taking over Hamilton’s position for a slight change of shape.
Pars were now going for it and Chalmers was getting on the ball often.
A Chalmers corner was headed goalwards by young Fisher and everyone was waiting for the net to bulge, but it was cleared off the line.
Not to be denied, a few minutes later, Fisher, bent a low cross in from deep. It caught Fontaine, running back, a glancing blow in the midriff and the ball hit the side net to the keeper’s right. GOAL

Edinburgh threw men forward In an attempt to salvage a point but there was to be no repeat of the Peterhead debacle and Pars seen out the game comfortably enough

a well deserved win in the end, albeit the goal carried some good fortune.

Benedictus, Edwards and Chalmers our better performers, in that order

That game was crying out for wingers and yet we sign 2 and leave them on the bench? Found that a bit strange but a good win in the end, chance to go 4 clear and Falkirk playing Alloa you never know if Alloa could sneak a point after a good result today

Absolutely, they offered nothing, I’d have gone three at the back and swapped out edwards and comrie for the new guys and gone two up top

That would have required a change of shape to  4 at the back something Mcpake wasnt prepaired to do today
