Sacked in the Morning - Peter Grant

In case anyone is feeling at their most masochistic today, here's a chance to listen to Peter Grant spraff on about his career, I assume including his time at EEP: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0dgc687

I've not listened to it because frankly I would rather recreate one of the iconic scenes from Casino on myself than subject my ears to this, but passing it on for general interest...

Worst Pars manager in the 37 years I have follwed Pars. How he managed to make such a mess in such a short time.

There's no argument that he was a disaster as a manager. I never met the guy, but Ross McArthur said he was a very decent human being and I respect his judgement.

John Hughes was also a disaster, even if his results were slightly better than Grants. He liked to portray himself as your avuncular funny guy, but the reality is that he was an arrogant bully, who liked to lord it over his squad. He was hated by those he humiliated and disliked by those he favoured.

Exactly how I've always thought of him. So glad he's away.

Aside from the football side, Peter Grant was a gent. After he left he took time out to phone a number of people at the club to thank them for their help.
Other managers just left without a word of thanks.

Maybe not a thanks but an apology as the way he left the club in a terrible state.

The Yogi came in and he was brutal.

Thank god there was (mr cook) who took control and got the best guy in we could get in McPake and imo has done a great job.

Grant,Hughes, Potter, Scott and Munro…brutal!

If Cook was at the club I don’t think Grant would have got a sniff at the managers job.
But we have to look at what the club has gone through in the past 4 years and it’s probably the first season we have a good team/management and backroom set up.
it’s almost like the club had to come down a league to regroup and start again.

First time in years we had a proper clear out and fresh management team with fresh ideas etc. Albeit a league below it seems we have a management team in charge that actually have a clue
