Dunfermline and Falkirk chase Murray

Dunfermline and Falkirk are battling to bring Euan Murray back to Scotland on loan from Hartlepool United.

The former Pars defender left Kilmarnock in the summer to join Paul Hartley in his short-lived spell in charge of the Monkey Hangers.

Murray has made 28 appearances across all competitions for the League Two strugglers but he’s not started a league game since Boxing Day and is available on loan.

And that’s alerted the League One promotion rivals with James McPake and John McGlynn - who managed the player at Raith Rovers - eager to snap him up.

Both clubs reckon the 29-year-old could boost their hopes of making the leap to the Championship come May.

Murray made 44 appearances for Dunfermline across two years before signing for Killie in 2021.

Murray was excellent for us, similar to Benedictus with whom he played at the San Starko. Been a while now, but his experience would be invaluable in the run in. Would help negate the loss of Fisher.

The past 4 windows have been rotten compared to the way Crawford done business. Surely a lot off these deals could have been agreed before deadline day.

It's really impossible to say. Do you think the Pars have a deal(s) in the bag and are holding off announcing them to keep us in suspense?

Far more likely that targeted players (and their agents) are holding off giving a definitive answer until the last minute to see if any better offers come in.

These "transfer windows" really are a load of old arse in our current situation. We are pretty much farting around in the loan market and have another month to pick players up. I hate them. All manufactured by the EPL and Sky so they can bring Clinton Morrison, Jamie O'Hara and that woman with the big white teeth to slaver all day about who Fulham aren't going to sign.

My gripe is every other team seems to get stuff over the line bar us. It’s obvious to see from all fans and surely th management team too that the squad needs freshend up.

the same old working hard on players doing our home work have to be a good fit, hoping to be here by x date only goes so far and fans get ****ed off
