Would love to see them pump the mutants, just love it.

Are you Kevin Keegan in disguise, BRS? 🤔

Fantastic result by Darvel, but no way should they have been able to beat Aberdeen. That shocking offside decision didn't help all the same. Hard to see Jim Goodwin survive this terrible result which eclipses the 4-3 semi-final defeat to QOS and a 2-0 defeat at Stenhousemuir in previous years.

In theory, you're right and Goodwin and the Aberdeen players need their backsides kicked. However, I see people keep going on about them being 5 tiers below, and them being a 6th tier team. More than a few of their boys could easily do a job at League 1/2, at least. Anyone who watches that level regularly knows there are players who are there because a lot of these ex-junior, newly senior clubs have got more money than most of the league 1/2 team and can pay significantly more, the standard and pace of the game is very high. I watched the Swifts play Cowdenbeath with an average age of 22 in their starting line up and drew 0-0. In reality, Swifts were disappointed because if it had been 0-4 to them on the day, it wouldn't have flattered them.

The pyramid opening up has evened out the playing field from an ability perspective below Championship level and the gulf in ability isn't anywhere near as big as it used to be as there are a lot more boys who might have been lost to the game having not made it at the top or been picked up at all, now staying in it at that level.

Yea, I've been reading that Darvel are able to pay the kind of wages teams in Leagues 1 and 2 would struggle to match, thanks to their Chairman's deep pockets. It's reminiscent of Therangers 2012 in their debut season in League 2. I remember Kevin Kyle boasting that he asked for twice the salary he thought he'd no chance of getting and Ally McCoist immediately agreed it. Kyle was stunned but recovered enough to sign before laughing all the way home. If the financial source is legitimate, good luck to them. If it's dodgy, it will catch up with them sooner or later, as it has with several senior clubs in the last 20 years or so.

The cash is ‘legitimate’ in that it’s coming from the chairman and not accumulating debt,  however it’s all based on ego, he had nothing to do with darvel until a few years ago and if his ego takes a hit he may well walk leaving the club with a squad of players on huge money with no one to pay it.  It’s Gretna on steroids.

Aberdeen are obviously underperforming, them and Hibs actually. Seems both clubs have something not right at their respective clubs.

Any team can lose a game, but to lose 6 - 0 to an opponent, also on a poor run of form, takes some explaining. They were all supposed to be fully behind the manager and should have been hurting and busting a gut to make amends after that dreadful result v Darvel.

This is the same team who came close to earning a draw v Celtic and led Rangers 2-1, going into stoppage time, just a few weeks ago. They weren't useless then, so why are they useless now?
