Rossmcno1
According to the Daily Record, he’s signed up for next season. 15:19 WILL LANCASTER Breen Machine Rhys Breen is the latest of Dunfermline’s title-winning squad to agree a new deal. The defender has thrashed out a two-year extension to extend his East End Park stay. Breen’s existing contract was due to expire in the summer. The former Rangers youngster has been a key figure in helping the Pars to the League One title. The 23-year-old had been attracting interest from Barnsley, Oxford United and Glentoran but has decided to take the step up to the Championship with the Fifers. Boss James McPake has moved quickly to get a number of his key players signed up. Midfielder Matty Todd, defender Josh Edwards and Craig Wighton have recently signed new deals, as have their management team of McPake and Dave Mackay. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/transfer-news-live-celtic-rangers-29790541 Edited April 28, 2023 by Rossmcno1 Added link
Al k
Great news, I'm sure the manager said something about him not playing again until pre-season. Be happier once it's official. kelty_par
Imo we’ll defo need some more quality in centre backs for going up
Secure Par
Excellent news. Maybe we can get Fisher from Dundee and that’s us set at CB.

Can't agree we'd be set Think we would need one more if we want to play a back 3 most weeks as we would need cover. If we got Fisher and Euan Murray we would be ok for central defenders, even then you'd want comrie or someone like comrie who can play a few roles over the season for more depth overall
Piracy
Happy with Breen signing. He's a good bloke as we as a decent player.

A good character as well as a decent defender. Ironically, he might not have nailed down a starting place if Dundee hadn't recalled Sam Fisher.

This deal was seemingly let slip after winning the league and if secured officially with the other rumoured deal for comrie it’s good news all round
Number Eleven
Rhys Breen has come on leaps and bounds this season. I think he’s really benefited from playing alongside Bene. If we can get Sam Fisher back that’s a good back 3 but stepping up to the Championship we’ll need more options and ideally some more experience.
