I understand the draw for the group stages of the league cup are due out today and the Pars will be clear on what teams they are likely to face in competitive action. There are 5 pots with 40 teams and the ranking is determined on how teams finished in the leagues last season. Pot 1 1 St Mirren, 2 Motherwell, 3 Livingston, 4 St Johnston, 5 Kilmarnock, 6 Ross County, 7 Dundee Utd, 8 Dundee Pot 2 9 Ayr Utd, 10 Queens Park, 11 Partick Th, 12 Morton, 13 ICT, 14 Raith Rovers, 15 Arbroath, 16 Hamilton Pot 3 17 Cove Rangers, 18 Dunfermline Ath, 19 Falkirk, 20 Airdrie, 21 Alloa, 22 QoS, 23 Edinburgh, 24 Montrose Pot 4 25 Kelty Hearts, 26 Clyde, 27 Peterhead, 28 Stirling Albion, 29 Dumbarton, 30Annan Ath, 31 East Fife, 32 Forfar Ath Pot 5 33 Stenhousemuir, 34 Stranraer, 35 Bonnyrigg Rose, 36 Elgin City, 37 Albion Rovers, 38 Brechin City, 39 Spartans, 40 Cowdenbeath Great opportunity to visit ground you have never been to before, however it would be fantastic to visit the hedge at Brechin once more and perhaps Cowden as who knows if there will be another opportunity to do so. Perhaps even Partick given their current financial worries! I thought we did well last time out so hopefully this bodes well for the new season. No interest in going back 😂 Happy with the draw even though it looks a tough one. There are some good games to look forward to.
