We do have the centre backs to play a three but the problem is we don’t have the correct make up in midfield.

Do we? We don't have anyone capable of playing the RCB role, and only Otoo is capable of playing the LCB role.

File this under wild speculation with very little to back it up but with Friedrich Lass-Hennemann's background I wonder if he's been brought in to sift through the books and find what black holes are there

If that's the case then I kind of fear for our future at East End Park, as I suspect that's the first thing they'd want to cut.

Fisher Bene Breen

Fisher hasn't got the ball progression to play RCB, Breen is left footed and Bene doesn't have the legs.

Comrie is also a better RCB than wing-back at the moment.

He is, but then we have no one at Rwb.

It's almost like the players he's signed or inherited can't play his defensive formation.

We play two full backs at wing back who both aren’t comfortable doing so. If we go to a back 4, who’s going to play wide left? It’s just ridiculous we are a week away from the league starting and this is the state of our squad. The Bod and owners should be ashamed of themselves not backing the manager

If we did go to 4, he'd play McCann on the left, cutting inside, in a 4-3-3/4-5-1.  Many think that's his best position anyway.

However, there is no sign of that. McPake likes 3-5-2 and he's got Ngwenya to replace Edwards. If he's not good enough to play there, that's on him. RWB is one of Comrie, KRH or O'Halloran - all of whom have been signed or had contracts extended by McPake.

We're short to get us through to January. He's got enough at the moment to compete.
