Why on earth would you dismiss the league Cup? that's crazy it's a weak group and we should be aiming to qualify and potentially get  cup tie to earn some money.

The league cup is played very early in the season and willing to give the team time to adjust to playing more attacking football, indeed if that is even what they are trying to do. I hope so for my eyeballs sake.

I'm not disagreeing but I'd think friendlies would be ideal for that.

League cup since new format has seen us at ibrox twice and parkhead once. Club probably made nearly £500k off those games alone…. We simply have to qualify from a group that’s very weak imo. Could fund an extra signing or two

Ideally that would be enough time to get the players used to playing a bit more front foot. I'm not saying give up on the League cup. I think the income is important but if we don't click in that timescale I won't be too critical, as long as we are trying to change our style to being more positive.

On the other hand if we continue to play the exact same way and we're struggling to score goals or create. I won't be quite as understanding.

As I say, I don't even know if that's what we are trying to do. I hope so as I speak to a lot of fans that are utterly fed up with the slow,  cautious football we play under McPake and things could turn a bit sour if we are not getting results playing the way we did last year.

Sometimes wonder if Scotland should introduce something radical like an extra point for every 5 or 10 league goals scored, to encourage more attacking play.

We'd be better to try something radical, especially after watching the Euros. We were as dull as England.

Should be winning this. Suppose the stats were an indication we were on top and always good to see McCann scoring, because he needs to find the net more regular than he has been.

This is his final chance for me. He should be kicking on now, been saying "this is his year" for half a decade now.

Theres a player there but he's had 4 different managers now.

I agree. He frustrates me hugely.

He has the strength and physique but genuinely don't think he has a lot of natural ability or strong positional sense.

There's only so much you can coach a player.

You'd just have Celtic and Newgers running up cricket scores every week in their neverending arms race.
