Superally Posted July 12 Report Share Posted July 12 Well after four friendlies the Pars have their first competitive match of the season away to The Spartans in the Premier Sports Cup at Ainslie Park. While it seem a easy game for some as the The Spartans sit two leagues below the Pars they have done well against "so called better" teams in this competition and they will see opportunities against a Pars side who only scored one goal in four friendlies. The Pars will know they have been in a game and will really have to step up a level if they want to progress. Injures once again are familiar story line, McPake has Todd out and there doubts over Hamilton. Kane has yet to feature following a "managed" pre season but nobody will expect him to play the full 90. It's important for the Pars to progress in this competition and reach the second stage, a win on Saturday will be a major boost in confidence taking us into the Forfar game on Tues Night. We have added some quality but there is a complete lack of depth. We have tended to do well against lower rated sides in this competition but suffered defeat at the same ground 5 years ago.
